Variety show to raise funds for church trip

On July 8-16, five youth and Esther Crandall from Burritt Community Church, will travel with youth and adults from Lansing Methodist Church, Lansing, Ill., to participate in a week of mission through home repair with the Appalachia Service Project (ASP) in Kentucky. The youth from the church are Brian Edwards, Nathan and Caitlan Loria, Cole Lightfoot and Zach Logsdon.

To help fund this 10-day trip, the youth are planning a variety show to be held at the Burritt Grange Townhall, 8284 Trask Bridge Rd., Rockford, at 6: 30 p.m., Saturday, June 25. Hot dogs, chips, candy and pop will be available. A free-will offering will be accepted. All money will go to fund this summer’s ASP trip.

Scheduled to perform is the Burritt Sunday School, Heritage Strings, a local high school youth jam band, jugglers, singers, mandolins, guitars, pianos and dulcimers. Mike Crandall will emcee the evening.
