Volunteers needed for national ‘Make a Difference Day’

The Rock River Chapter of the American Red Cross will clean its Homeless Shelter and the neighborhood from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 23. for national “Make a Difference Day.”

The Red Cross Homeless Shelter at 809 Cedar St. needs volunteers to assist with detail cleaning, organizing, landscaping and more. Volunteers can participate by helping with the cleanup and/or donating cleaning products, tools or food for the helpers on this day.

To make this event a success and a better place for guests, the Rock River Chapter also requests donations of personal hygiene products, socks, washcloths, towels, bathrobes, soaps and laundry soap. Donations can be dropped off at the Red Cross Homeless Shelter from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 23.
