Walking Tours provide original outdoor fun

Looking for a fun activity that will get you outdoors to enjoy the beautiful weather in the Rockford region? The Rockford Area Convention & Visitors Bureau (RACVB) has just the answer to get you moving and grooving this spring with its Rockford Originals Neighborhood Walking Tours.

Learn about the rich history of the Rockford region while taking a walk around town. Choose from four different self-guided, narrated walking tours including: North End Commons, South End, River District and Mid Town District. Best of all, the tours are free and easy to access using an MP3 player or cell phone.

The MP3 audio file, along with the companion map, for each tour can be downloaded from the RACVB’s Web site at www.gorockford.com. Preloaded MP3 players can also be checked out at the RACVB offices at 102 N. Main St. in downtown Rockford. To access the tours by cell phone, call (815) 749-TOUR (8687) to select a tour and receive directions about how to access the narration for each stop. no additional charge for the call except for your cell minutes.

Let your feet do the walking, and RACVB will do the talking as you discover the fascinating history of Rockford. You might even learn a thing or two along the way!
