Warehouse and Dock Safety course at NIU June 6

The Third Annual Warehouse Safety Seminar will be offered from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Wednesday, June 6, in the Engineering Building at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb. Space is limited, so register yourself or your group today!

More than 115 company supervisors and staff have rated the course valuable for better practices of moving and warehousing materials and products. The program includes critical topics such as Warehousing Safety, Most Frequently Cited Violations, Accidents in Warehouses, Forklift Safety, Hazard Communication, Ergonomics of Material Handling, Dock Safety, Fall Protection, and Safety and Health Management programs.

Participants will learn from expert OSHA presenters with years of experience: John Newquist, assistant Region V administrator for Cooperative and State Programs; Misette Kobler, Senior Compliance Safety and Health Office of the Aurora Area Office; and Dana Root, OSHA Region V Ergonomics administrator. Their photos, workshops, and real cases will demonstrate hazards and communicate the need for safe practices with material movement, powered industrial trucks, docks, storage and warehousing.
