WEB EXCLUSIVE: Logan Explorations Program opens 2003 season with Native Americans

BELOIT, Wis.—Children ages 5-11 are invited to learn more about what Beloit College’s Logan Museum of Anthropology has to offer when the Logan Exploration Series holds its first session of 2003. The series will present several new educational programs, and will combine fun hands-on activities designed to educate children in grades K-5 about a variety of topics within the museum setting.

On Saturday, Feb. 22, the program will explore Native American symbols and their interpretive meanings. The day’s activities will be an opportunity to educate youth about Native American culture and perspectives.

The Logan Explorations Program is open to all children grades K-5 and will meet from 1 to 3 p.m. There will be two additional Logan Explorations Saturday series sessions on March 22 and April 26. All series programs will be at the Logan Museum on the Beloit College campus.

The cost is $10 per session, which covers materials, snacks and a T-shirt. Discounts are available for children enrolling in multiple sessions. There will be a waiting list if group enrollment reaches 20 or more; parents will be contacted if their child is placed on the waiting list.

All families are encouraged to participate in these great learning opportunities. Call Karla Wheeler at (608) 363-2678, or e-mail wheelerk@beloit.edu with questions or to enroll. Sign up early because space is limited.
