WEB EXCLUSIVE: Ngoma Dance Troupe performs at kids show

Treat the kids to a taste of African culture Saturday, Feb. 22, at an 11 a.m. performance of the Ngoma Dance Troupe at the Rockford Public Library Auditorium, sponsored by Charlottes Web.
This is a free kids show. Ngoma is Swahili for dance and drama. It teaches children a positive way of expression through the art of dance. Founder Felicia Nelson formed the group to nurture Rockford-area youth, ages 5-18, with physical, mental, spiritual and discipline training. Celebrate Black History Month with the music and dance of African, African-Caribbean and African-American cultures.
The show is co-sponsored by the Rockford Public Library Youth Services. The library is at 215 N. Wyman St. in the heart of the River District. Come and enjoy!
