Winnebago Co. Forest Preserve awarded Illinois Clean Energy Foundation grant

The Winnebago County Forest Preserve District has to announced that the Illinois Clean Energy Foundation has awarded a grant for $6,450 for the upgrade of fluorescent light fixtures in nine buildings owned by the District. Obsolete light ballasts will be replaced with new ballasts that operate using less energy. In total, the lighting change will mean an operating reduction of 10.75 KW of electricity. Not only will the lighting change reduce energy consumption, but the new lights will be cheaper to operate.
