Winnebago County Animal Services to hold Spay/Neuter Event

Winnebago County Animal Services (WCAS) will hold a 2007 Low Income Spay/Neuter Event from Monday, Feb. 26 to Saturday, March 10.

This is for pet owners who can show proof of low income. WCAS will offer $15 vouchers to have a dog or cat spayed or neutered at a local veterinarian of your choice.

WCAS will provide vouchers only—do not bring your pets. To qualify, you must provide:

Driver’s license or state-issued ID that proves you are a resident of Winnebago County

Proof of current rabies vaccinations and registration—mandatory

Meet WIC income guidelines, with proof of total household income (i.e., W-2 forms, paycheck stubs, SSI or Public Aid statement) or a current LINK card. (call WCAS for specific information.)

You may purchase spay-neuter vouchers for a maximum of four animals.

This will be on a cash-only basis. Hours are Monday and Wednesday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, call Winnebago County Animal Services at (815) 319-4100, and press 8 for “Special Events.”
