WINNEBAGO COUNTY, ILLINOIS SPECIMEN BALLOT

NOVEMBER 2, 2004 GENERAL ELECTION

This page includes:

· local, state, and national candidates’ names and desired offices

· local propositions

· links to candidates’ websites

· links to information about propositions

· additional links which might be of interest listed at the bottom of the page

Note on links: Links to candidates’ websites have been included for candidates whose websites I found. (If there is not a link for a candidate, that does not necessarily mean that he/she does not have a website; it means I didn’t find it.) In the interest of fairness, I included only personal or campaign websites. Additional information on many candidates and propositions (such as news coverage, community groups in which candidates participate or which endorse them, biographies, voting records, contact information, etc.) is available on the Internet and can be found by using a search engine. Some propositions are linked to local news coverage; I tried to choose informative and unbiased sources.

All candidates’ names, the names of their parties, and the names of the offices for which they are running are taken from a specimen ballot serving as a notice of general election produced by the Winnebago County Clerk’s Office and a specimen ballot produced by the City of Rockford’s election service. I thank both offices for allowing the information to be reprinted here.
