Trinity Concert Series is proud to announce the celebration of its 20th Anniversary Season. Trinity will host four concerts: the Wisconsin Brass Quintet Oct. 26; the Wheaton College Womens Chorale Jan. 25, 2004; singer Dennis Johnson Feb. 15, 2004; and Keyboard Excursions, a piano/organ duet, April 25, 2004. The first concert, the Wisconsin Brass Quintet, will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26 in the sanctuary of Trinity Lutheran Church, 200 N. First St., Rockford. The public is invited to this free concert and the church is handicapped accessible. A freewill offering will be taken. Founded in 1972, the Wisconsin Brass Quintet is an ensemble-in-residence at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Music and includes the talents of John Aley and Alan Campbell, trumpets; Douglas Hill, horn; James Campbell, trombone; and John Stevens, tuba. The brass chamber experience of the Wisconsin Brass Quintet is nationally recognized and widely known for their musical expertise. The quintet has performed throughout the Midwest with additional concerts around the country, including performances at Carnegie Recital Hall in New York City. Barry Kilpatrick writes for the American Record Guide: Ive reviewed over 250 brass recordings in the past five years, and this is one of the very best. The WBQ is a remarkable ensemble that plays with more reckless abandon, warmth, stylistic variety, and interpretive interest than almost any quintet in memory. The quintet has recently released Images, a CD on the Mark Records label, featuring works by Hill and Stevens.
