The Rockford Regional Chamber of Commerce 2004 Women in Business Luncheon and Exposition will be Thursday, June 17, at Giovannis Conference Center.
Lynn Neeley, a professor in the Department of Management, part of Northern Illinois University, will give the keynote address on The ABCs of Business: Advance, Become, Create.
Dr. Neeley has served as President of the United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship, as a board member of the International Council for Small Business, and as a member of the Governors Commission on the Status of Womens Business and Entrepreneurship Working Group. Currently, she is a member of the Academy of Management Entrepreneurship Divisions Executive Committee and its AACSB Liaison Sub-committee. She researches in the area of entrepreneurial and small business finance, particularly bootstrap financing.
The expo will begin at 10:30 a.m.; the luncheon and program at noon. More than 450 area business and civic leaders are expected to attend. The Annual Women Business Owner of the Year, Manager of the Year and Woman Leader of Tomorrow Awards will be given at the luncheon.
Individual tickets are $30; corporate tables of 10 are $300, which includes preferred seating and table signage. Exposition space is available for women-owned or women-managed businesses for $30.
