Wounded Warriors Golf Play Day Aug. 25

On August 25, a Golf Play Day will be held to benefit wounded United States soldiers and their families. It will be hosted by Wounded Warriors and Captain Gabe Gecan of the 101st Airborne Division of the U. S. Army at Sunset Golf Course in Mt. Morris.

Capt. Gecan will be bringing some of his soldiers from Fort Campbell, Ky. to the event.

The mission of Wounded Warriors is to enhance the quality of life for those adversely affected by injury or death in the line of duty to their country. Wounded Warriors seeks to ensure that the sacrifices of wounded and fallen warriors and their families are never forgotten nor their needs unmet, particulary with regard to the short- and long-term care of the severely injured.

The event begins at noon, and the cost per golfer is $65. A special treat for those participating is the opportunity to find out how soldiers eat. MREs will be included in the entry fee.

There will also be prizes and a raffle. Hole sponsors are also welcome.
