Rockford Art Museums (RAM) 65th Young Artist Show: Youth Division, opens Sunday, April 9 with a reception thats designed to coincide with Rockford Area Arts Councils Family Arts Festival. The Festival is set for 1-4 p.m., Sunday, April 9, in Riverfront Museum Park.
This division of the RAMs annual Young Artist Show features exceptional artwork by students in grades kindergarten through eight from the Rockford and Harlem school districts.
Selections were chosen for entry by art instructors from participating schools. Awards will be named in each grade level. The exhibition showcases the strength and diversity of art programs, teachers and students in the Rockford region.
Awards for the Youth Division will be presented to the following individuals:
Megan Platz, White Swan School, kindergarten;
Hannah Scott, Marquette Elementary School, first grade;
Cassandra Torres, McIntosh School, second grade;
Priscilia Salgado, Marquette Elementary School, third grade;
Daisy Delatorre, Spring Creek Elementary School, fourth grade;
Grace Perian, Olson Park Elementary School, fifth grade;
Caitlin Barker, Flinn Middle School, sixth grade;
Kristia Singson, Keith Country Day School, seventh grade; and
Helix Gartner, Harlem Middle School, eighth grade.
The 65th Young Artist Show: Youth Division opens with a free, public reception at 1 p.m., Sunday, April 9, and remains on display in RAMs Kuller Gallery through May 7.
Rockford Art Museum is in Riverfront Museum Park, 711 N. Main St., Rockford. Regular gallery hours are Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Thursday to 7 p.m.), Sunday noon to 5 p.m. Museum admission is $3, free for children and students.
