Local author announces his first book
Ray W. Empereur, a native of the Rockford area, has published a new book titled Creating Your Legacy: A Do-It-Yourself Guide for Baby Boomers.
This is a guide and self-help book for members of the baby boom generation to aid in development of a written legacy for their heirs. The baby boom generation comprises the 77 million Americans born between 1946 and 1964, representing the children born in the post- World War II era. Boomers, raised in an era of unprecedented prosperity, have become the American ruling class, though most are just average citizens.
This book will help boomers to prepare their own memoirs, thus leaving a durable record for generations of heirs to follow.
The book was released by Infinity Publishing and is available for sale locally at $11.95 at Canterbury Books, 1662 N. Alpine Road in Highcrest Center, or at www.buybooksontheweb.com in their self-help section.
The author, Ray W. Empereur, himself a first-wave baby boomer, holds degrees from both Rockford College (history) and NIU (public administration) and lives in Rockford with his wife, Sherry. Semi-retired, his career was as a public health administrator, teacher and non-profit executive. He is now self-employed as a health care consultant and works part time for Health Systems Research at the U of I College of Medicine. In addition to writing, he enjoys being a Civil War re-enactor and a living historian.
