Free entertainment Aug. 9 at Levings Lake Park

Rockford Park District’s free Sounds of Summer Concert Series has offered a variety of free performances throughout the summer, including Live at Levings, which has included the Levings Talent Contest and Concert on select Sundays.

The final contest and concert of the Levings series season is scheduled for 2:30 to 7 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 9 (rain date Sunday, Aug. 23) at Levings Park, Montague Street and South Johnston Avenue, Rockford. Previous winners of this season’s talent contests will perform for overall first place, and the featured act will be popular local musician Harlan Jefferson with So So Tight.
