Syverson’s Senior Health Fair Aug. 12 at Patriots’ Gateway

Local residents are encouraged to attend a senior health fair hosted by State Sen. Dave Syverson (R-Rockford). The fair will be from 9 to 11 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 12, at the Patriots’ Gateway Center, 615 S. Fifth St., in Rockford.

The fair will feature a range of free screenings and information for seniors to assist them with their health and finances, including:

• Cholesterol screenings (prior six- to eight-hour fast suggested)

• Blood pressure screenings

• Blood sugar testing

• Hearing and vision tests

• Spinal Myo screenings

• Chair massages

• Cash Dash from the State Treasurer’s Office to help residents find lost state assets

• Demonstration of phones for people with hearing loss

“This fair is meant to be an easy, one-stop opportunity for area seniors interested in getting more information about their health,” Syverson said. “All area seniors are welcome to attend and take advantage of the free screenings and services provided.”
