RiverHawks looking to avoid three-game sweep tonight

The Rockford RiverHawks will host the Washington Wild Things tonight (Thursday, Aug. 13) at Road Ranger Stadium at 7:05 p.m. on “Thirsty Thursday.”
Rockford comes into tonight’s match-up having dropped their last four games, including the first two games of the three-game series to the Wild Things, and five out of their last six.
Rockford remains 6 1/2 games back of the West Division-leading Windy City ThunderBolts and 5 games back of the River City Rascals for the fourth, and final, Frontier League playoff spot.
With just 23 games remaining on the 2009 schedule, the RiverHawks are battling not only their Frontier League opponents, but also the clock.
The RiverHawks fell 5-4 to Washington Aug. 12, as the Wild Things rallied for three runs in the seventh inning.
Jason James homered for the first time since July 10, but it wasn’t enough to propel Rockford to a win.
