County Clerk clarifies general election races

From press release

Winnebago County Clerk Margie Mullins announced Aug. 14 clarification about Winnebago County Board races for the upcoming Feb. 2, 2010, general election.

“There is only two years left in the 10-year cycle for County Board members, which means that whomever runs in 2010 will only run for a two-year term,” Mullins said. “In 2012, all County Board members will run in all districts with two being elected from each district.”

Regarding the seats where Pete MacKay in District 5 and Karen Elyea in District 11 resigned their seats, a candidate will run for an unexpired two-year term.
