Life Center to distribute school supplies Aug. 15

From press release

Life Center has in the past impacted the lives of 1,500 students with its “Tools for School Drive.” This year, the goal is to impact the lives of 5,000 students.

A “Stuff the Bus” school supply collection day will be held from noon to 6 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 15, at CoCo Key Water Resort. CoCo Key has been a huge supporter of Life Center’s program, and 600 water park passes will be given out; just donate $5 worth of school supplies to stuff and fill the bus that will be parked out in front of the water park. This is the first time CoCo Key Water Resort has hosted the “Stuff the Bus” event. All supplies will be collected in the Dolphin Swim Club bus.

Life Center has partnered with the City of Rockford (Mayor’s Office, Human Services), Rockford Park District, On the Waterfront, Winnebago County Health Department, Ellis Heights Weed and Seed Program, Life Church, Faith Center, The Literacy Council, the Rockford Public Library, and Rep. Chuck Jefferson’s office as well as many other businesses to impact as many students’ lives as possible. Mayor Morrissey will attend, and the Merchant Police will give a K-9 demonstration. The Rockford Fire Department will demonstrate fire safety with their bus.

Come on out for food, entertainment, karaoke, games and learning activities for the kids as well as collecting their backpacks of supplies. Rockford’s 97 ZOK will be broadcasting live with great music, tons of prizes and giveaways, and discounted food and beverages will be available.

Life Center is still seeking donations of cash and supplies. Life Center has about 70 “Tools for School” barrels located around town. All locations are listed on the Web site. For more information, go to Web site Rockfordlifecenter.org or call CoCo Key Water Resort at (815) 398-6000.
