9/11 Memorial observance at RVC features ‘Peacemaking’ program

A 9/11 Memorial observance will be held at 3 p.m., Friday, Sept. 11, at Rock Valley College in the Atrium of the Student Center on the main campus, 3301 N. Mulford Road.
A panel discussion on
Peacemaking: A View From Your Own Religion
will be presented by Rockford Urban Ministries, and co-sponsored by Rock Valley College. The panel members include the Rev. Jim Roberts, former pastor of Emmanuel Lutheran Church; the Imam Shpendim Nadzaku of the Muslim Community Center; the Rabbi Binah Wing of Temple Beth-El; and Phyllis Peterson, representing the Baha’i Faith.
Everyone is invited to join Rock Valley College and the Rockford Interfaith Council for the Eighth Annual 9/11 Observance, which is free and open to the public. The program includes reflections and prayers from local religious and community leaders. Each participant will present a short reflection on
Peacemaking.
