FORT ATKINSON, Wis.—For the first time since opening its doors in 1962, the Timber Lake Playhouse in Fort Atkinson, Wis., will be home to a non-play-related event, a Sept. 6 oldies music concert and fund-raiser for Riverview Center.

Headliners will be Everly Brothers/oldies tribute band The Abbeys, returning as The Everly Hillbillies. The duo have been playing in the Midwest for 19 years with music that is described as, “acoustical rock ’n’ roll with a whole mess-o-twang, rocking covers from the best of The Everly Brothers, Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins, Buck Owens, Roy Orbison, Ray Charles, Buddy Holly, Little Richard, The Kinks, The Beatles and more.”

Other performers sharing the stage with The Everly Hillbillies include Carroll County’s own “Man In Black,” bluegrass artist Ray Rose and his The End of the Road Band; a local young, multi-talented singer/songwriter Haley Dorsch; well-known and phenomenal blues artist Jim Drennan; and popular performer and winner of most of the local musical competitions over the past several years (he donated his Make-A-Wish winnings back to the Make-A-Wish foundation), Evan Atherton. The groups will all do duets on oldies tunes and a grand finale that promises to be a great deal of fun.

Actor and Timber Lake Playhouse manager Richard Hall will be the event emcee and will be joined by musicians and familiar faces Kevin Stope, Michael Gothard and David Taylor of the band Abigail’s Fury (formerly known as DownPlay).

A raffle drawing for prizes will also be included.

The show will be recorded in its entirety for both a DVD compilation as well as to be used on the gocarrollcounty.com Web site to promote tourism to the area.

Riverview Center educator Christina Rios will provide information about all of the vital work they do to protect and defend all of the residents and the children.

Tickets are $10 prior to the event and $15 the day of the event. Discounted group purchase rates are also available as well as senior citizen and veteran discounts.

The event is hosted by Turning Point Productions, a local music production/promotion company that was started three years ago by area musicians uniting to promote local bands and music artists.
