St. Anthony College of Nursing celebrates continued accreditation

Saint Anthony College of Nursing, a private Catholic college, which offers a bachelor of science in nursing and a master of science of nursing, celebrates reaccreditation by Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. The next comprehensive evaluation visit is scheduled for 2018-2019, reflecting a 10-year maximum period between visits with no interim reports or reviews mandated. This indicates that the college meets the five standards that address mission and integrity, resources, evaluation and planning, effective teaching, support for student inquiry and learning, as well as social responsibility, engagement and service to the community.
The visiting team acknowledged the contributions and expertise of its nursing students and its graduates. They reported that the region’s health care community described the students as confident and engaged, thus welcome at their agencies. The team reported that agency representatives all expressed a desire for more time with the students, as the nursing students provided excellent care for their clients. Nurse managers and staff nurses spoke highly of the students and graduates of the college. Many of them were alumnae themselves, or had worked with Saint Anthony graduates. They found them competent and compassionate. One individual responded,

Regionally and professionally accredited, Saint Anthony College of Nursing is a Catholic college that prepares students to become caring, professional nurses in acute care and ambulatory settings in beginning and advanced roles of the profession. Undergraduate students are admitted to the College of Nursing BSN program following the completion of 64 hours of lower division credits from a regionally-accredited college or university. RNs with bachelor’s degrees may select one of three MSN tracks: nurse education, clinical nurse leader and clinical nurse specialist.
