More than 50 years ago, I attended story time at the old Rockford Public Library (what a wonderful old building that was) and still remember it well as a important part of my learning to love to read.

Eliminating this program would be a disgrace.

Why can't community volunteers come forward to carry it on without cost to the Library? It could do some of our older citizens a world of good to contact our youngest and could be of great benefit to them all.
