Freeport Masonic Temple’s annual Oktoberfest Oct. 25

FREEPORT, Ill.—The Freeport Masonic Temple, 305-315 W. Stephenson St., Freeport, is hosting its third annual Oktoberfest from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 25.
The event will feature live music, food, beer and other beverages. The music is provided by the Zor Shrine Band from Madison, Wis., with a German band and a Dixieland band on a rotational schedule with Hank’s Polka Boys of Monroe, Wis. The Masonic Temple ballroom provides an excellent dance floor, and tables will be set for eating or relaxing.
A $5 entrance donation is requested at the door to cover the cost of the bands, security and utilities. Cost is $5 per plate for the German bill of fare, which includes brats, sauerkraut, German potato salad or, as alternative, coleslaw and potato chips. Drinks are extra with Keg beer costing $3 per glass, and sodas and bottled water $1.
