U.S. Rep. Don Manzullo (R-16) will hold a news conference Monday, Oct. 26, in Rockford to announce his plan to run for re-election and continue serving the people of northern Illinois in the United States House of Representatives.

Manzullo, 65, has served in the U.S. House since 1993.

In his last bid for re-election in 2006, Manzullo defeated Galena Mayor Dick Auman (D) 66-33 percent.

Manzullo serves on the Committee on Financial Services (Subcommittee on Capital Markets, Insurance, and Government Sponsored Enterprises and Subcommittee on International Monetary Policy and Trade) and Committee on Foreign Affairs (Subcommittee on Asia, the Pacific and the Global Environment (ranking member) and Subcommittee on Terrorism, Nonproliferation and Trade).

According to The Washington Post’s Congressional Votes Database at http://projects.washingtonpost.com/congress/, Manzullo has missed 1.7 percent of votes and votes with his party 92.5 percent of the time.
