Prairie Preservation Society meets Nov. 15

OREGON, Ill.—A special program will be offered by the Prairie Preservation Society of Ogle County at 2 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 15, at the Kickapoo Center, 1919 N. Limekiln Road, Oregon, Ill. The center is about a half-mile north of the Ogle County Fairgrounds.
Dr. Philip Whitford of Cross Plains, Wis., will speak about controlling geese and other nuisance species. He is a retired biology professor and expert on geese, having raised them for his research. He also flew an ultralight leading a flock. He has spent much of his time in nature, observing, hunting and fishing.
Refreshments will be served following the program. It is free and open to the public.
