Vote on Federal Shield Law–call Sen. Durbin

SENATE JUDICIARY COMMITTEE TO CONSIDER FEDERAL SHIELD LAW LEGISLATION

Call Senator Dick Durbin and request that he vote “yes” to

report the federal shield law legislation out of the Senate Judiciary Committee

The Senate Judiciary Committee will consider this bill on Thursday, Nov 19, 2009.  Please contact Senator Durbin and ask for his support of S. 448.

The Free Flow of Information Act (S. 448) has been on the Senate Judiciary Committee’s executive agenda for the last seven months. Recently, compromise language was developed by the Obama Administration, Senate sponsors and the media coalition to address many of the concerns expressed about the legislation including issues of national security. However, despite these good faith efforts at compromise, legislation has still not been voted out of Committee.
