BELOIT, Wis.—What is depression, and how is it different from the blues? Help is available if you are feeling depressed or are experiencing the following symptoms: loss of pleasure, feelings of hopelessness, changes in sleeping or eating patterns, irritability, fatigue, thoughts of death or suicide. These and many other symptoms may indicate that you may be suffering from depression.
Beloit Memorial Hospital will sponsor a Depression Screening Day from 10 a.m.-noon, Thursday, Nov. 19, at the hospital. There will be a brief presentation at 10 a.m. and assistance to help diagnose depression. The screening is free of charge. No appointment is needed, and all information will be held in confidence.
The mental health professionals at Beloit Memorial Hospital’s Counseling Care Center want you to know that depression is an illness, and effective treatments are available. Don’t wait to seek help. For more information, call Nicole or Claudia at (608) 364-5686.
