Literacy Council 50/50 Raffle to benefit thousands

The Literacy Council is a non-profit organization, founded in 1985, that offers free services to thousands of local community members annually.
The organization’s first Fall 50/50 Raffle offers three cash prizes. Three lucky winners will split the prize pool: 70 percent to the first ticket, 20 percent to the second ticket and 10 percent to the third ticket.
Raffle tickets are $20 each or three for $50; you do not need to be present to win. The raffle drawing will be at noon, Saturday, Dec. 5, at Barnes & Noble in CherryVale Mall.
Help by buying a raffle ticket and be a part of the services to adult learners and families.

More than 40,000 adults in the Rockford region read below the fifth-grade level and struggle daily with regular tasks. The Literacy Council was founded in 1985 and started with 40 adult students. The council serves more than 4,000 people annually, including adults with limited literacy skills, children and families.
The Literacy Council exists to strengthen communities by providing literacy instruction to individuals and families through one-on-one, free, confidential tutoring and small-group instruction.
