Stop by Rockford Park District Customer Service in downtown Rockford or at Carlson Ice Arena in Loves Park for a variety of gift ideas to help people enjoy life! Special holiday discount prices are the lowest of the season for Magic Waters season passes, Splash Packs, and select golf season permits, and these prices are available only through Feb. 14, 2010, for Magic Waters and through Feb. 15 for golf.

Magic Waters Gift Ideas

Pool Passes

Make a splash by giving season passes valid at Rockford Park District’s Alpine or Sand Park pools for a summer of fun in the sun for $45 for an adult, special family pricing, and reduced fees for youth and seniors.

For the Golfer

Golfers would welcome a 2010 golf season permit, as well as the book An Old Caddie Looks Back: From a Town That Loves Golf… and Tiger by Tom Warren of Beloit, Wis. The book celebrates the Rockford community as one of America’s most supportive golf towns for generations. The focus of the stories and recollections runs from the late 1940s through the early ‘60s, and picks up again in 1989 when Warren met Earl Woods and his 13-year-old son, Tiger. Park District Gift Cards—Always in Season

Rockford Park District gift cards are also available, allowing the recipient to choose from a wide variety of recreational activities, facilities and leisure skill lesson programs. Season passes and permits can be purchased or renewed at either Customer Service location; season permits for golf can be renewed online at www.rockfordparkdistrict.org, and Magic Waters season passes can be purchased online as well. (New golf season permits must be purchased in person at either Customer Service location.)

Buy a Brick Campaign

Commemorate treasured memories of Rockford and Sinnissippi Park by buying an engraved brick for the walkway of the future Nicholas Conservatory & Gardens. A gift of $75-$124 is entitled to an engraved 4 x 8-inch brick with up to three lines, and a gift of $125 or above is entitled to an engraved 8 x 8-inch brick with up to five lines. Donations may be arranged online at www.rockfordparkdistrict.org/foundation, at the Foundation office at 401 S. Main St., Rockford, or Park District Customer Service locations.

Commemorative Park District Ornament

In honor of the Rockford Park District’s centennial year in 2009, a special commemorative limited edition hand-painted ornament is available for holiday decorating and giving. The stunning black and white image of the Sinnissippi Lagoon is based on a postcard of the Lagoon circa 1920. Ornaments are $22 and are available at Park District Customer Service locations, and at J.R. Kortman Center for Design, 107 N. Main St., Rockford.
