RMTD restrooms now back in service

For a period of at least three weeks, people who stopped in at the downtown Rockford Mass Transit District (RMTD) bus terminal found the restrooms were closed to them. Signs were posted on the men’s and women’s restrooms that said:
Restroom closed until further notice. You mess it up, we lock it up!
Lisa Brown, Marketing & Public Relations Specialist for RMTD, told The Rock River Times that as of Monday, Dec. 7, both restrooms were open once again to the public. Questioned as to the reason for the closure, she said they will be open
as long as people maintain the restrooms. The reason they were closed was because we were seeing a considerable amount of vandalism and people setting fires in the restrooms. People need to respect public property as much as they respect private property.
Remember, folks, Santa’s watching you. So be good, for goodness sake!
