From press release

Students from Auburn, East, Guilford, Jefferson and Roosevelt high schools, along with Wilson ASPIRE students, will display more than 130 pieces of their finest work at the Rockford Public Schools’ All-Star Art Exhibit 2009.

The show, formerly known as the “All-City” exhibit, will be held for the second year in a row at ArtSpace West Gallery. This is the fifth year for the event, which gives students an opportunity to present their work in a professional setting devoted exclusively to the appreciation of visual art. The exhibit runs through Dec. 30.

Many of the pieces in the All-Star exhibit are also being entered in regional and state student art competitions. The show includes two- and three-dimensional work in media including acrylic, oil, pastel, watercolor, charcoal, graphite, clay, paper relief, digital and found objects.

No admission is required to view the exhibit. Hours for the gallery, which is at 1426 N. Main St., Rockford, are noon-7 p.m., Tuesday-Saturday.
