AMCORE donates more than 200 computers to Rockford Computers for Schools
From press release
AMCORE Bank donated more than 200 computers to Rockford Computers for Schools, a non-profit organization that refurbishes used computers to give to schools, non-profit organizations and need-based homes. The program strives to improve opportunities for all children to use technology to expand, increase and enrich their learning experiences.
In 2009, AMCORE donated 241 desktops, 297 monitors, 28 printers, 17 laptops and 11 servers. Also included were miscellaneous keyboards, mice, cables and other equipment. The donations were made periodically throughout the course of the year.
“The equipment was no longer in use at the bank and would have been sent to a recycling facility,” said Teresa Faidley, AMCORE regional president. “We are pleased the computers can be put to good use locally and that Rockford-area students will get the opportunity to benefit from our donation.”
