Boone County Conservation District holds Floor Cloth class

BELVIDERE, Ill.—The Boone County Conservation District will hold a Floor Cloth class from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Saturday, Jan.16, at the Roger D. Gustafson Nature Center, 603 N. Appleton Road, Belvidere. Participants will learn how to make a 4-foot-by-6-foot canvas floor cloth. Floor cloths were used in the 1800s as rugs. Cost for the class is $15, which includes all materials. Participants are asked to bring a pair of large, sturdy scissors to the class. Class size is limited, so register by Jan. 11.
