‘Paws for Pets’ food drive helps Kibble Korner
From press release
The Paws for Pets food drive has been established to help supply pet food to Kibble Korner at the Rock River Valley Food Pantry. In these tough economic times, many families have been forced to abandon or surrender their animals to shelters and rescues. The pet food supplies are very low at the pantry, and they are in need of donations to help people keep their pets and not have to worry about where their food is going to come from. You can either buy a paw print for $1 or $5 or donate canned or dry pet food (no open bags or cans) at the following locations:
Pampered Pet, 1423 N. Main St., Rockford
Terri’s Aqualand, 6125 N. Second St., Loves Park and 5512 Elevator Road, Roscoe
Dogwood Petcare Center, 4100 N. Mulford Road, Loves Park
Winnebago Vet Clinic, Winnebago, Ill.
Pet food donations can also be brought to Winnebago County Animal Services, 4517 N. Main St., Rockford; Petco, 6305 E. State St., Rockford; and Airport Pet Lodge, Airport Road, Rockford.
There are plans to have more pet food drives throughout 2010, and if your school or organization would like to help or if you would like more information about the current one, call (815) 963-6449. If you would like information about Kibble Korner, go to: kibblekorner.com or to their Facebook page. Volunteers are also needed to transport food.
To qualify for the pet food, you must complete an application available at the food pantry or online, and show proof of current rabies vaccination for your pets.
