Tilted Kilt Pub & Eatery, inside the Best Western Clock Tower Resort and Conference Center in Rockford at 7801 E. State St., has announced its grand-opening week of events and specials.

Tilted Kilt is different from other sports bars because, along with its plasma-screen TVs, its theme combines Celtic décor, humorous limericks and sexy cast members with great food, drinks and fun.

The menu is a mix of traditional pub food, such as fish and chips and shepherd’s pie, but also features creations like drunken clams, meatloaf and pasta dishes.

Thirty-two domestic and imported beers from around the world are available, which is the most beers on tap in Rockford. As the famed Tilted Kilt slogan goes, “A cold beer never looked so good.”

According to Tilted Kilt’s General Manager Erin Colombi: “The response from our guests has been incredible. People are so excited that we opened a Tilted Kilt in Rockford.”

To kick off the New Year and the grand opening, Tilted Kilt will host a week-long celebration Monday-Sunday, Jan. 18-24.

Daily food and drink specials and giveaways include tickets for two round-trip tickets from Chicago Rockford International Airport; Milwaukee Brewers, Chicago Cubs, Chicago BlackHawks, Rockford RiverHawks and concert tickets; and weekend getaways, among other items.

Live entertainment over the weekend includes The Original Delta Fireballs Juke Band featuring Geneva Red. With playoff games not starting until 2 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 24, Tilted Kilt will open for lunch (not breakfast) with tailgating and a live radio remote from noon to 2 p.m. During the playoffs, win two of the best seats in the house for Super Bowl Sunday, and win a luxury recliner.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held in conjunction with the Rockford Chamber of Commerce at 11 a.m., Thursday Jan. 21, with traditional bagpipes to celebrate the occasion.
