Jan. 16 event to help families plan for spring/summer activities

Zimbrick Saturn of Rockford, First Northern Credit Union, Maverick Media and various local organizations are teaming up to help local residents plan activities with their children or grandchildren for the upcoming spring and summer seasons.

The event will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 16, at Zimbrick Saturn of Rockford, 343 N. Perryville Road. Local organizations such as the YMCA of Rock River Valley, students from nFactor, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Rockford Wildcats, Girl Scouts and others will be on hand.

The “big yellow spongy guy” will be on hand for photos from noon to 2 p.m. Kids can also visit with “Hammy” the IceHog. Lunch will be available from The Filling Station. Those in attendance can register to win prizes including a ski package to Granite Peak, Magic Waters passes and Rockford IgeHogs tickets.
