Battle of the Badges set for Jan. 30
From press release
For more than 90 years, the Rock River Chapter of the American Red Cross has empowered community members with the skills and knowledge to support victims of local disasters. Providing comfort in the form of food, shelter, clothing and counseling to our neighbors who were affected by disasters such as the flooding of Keith Creek and the Rock River; and Poplar Grove tornado; and 6-10 residential fires per month is the primary duty of Red Cross disaster volunteers. In order to provide these services, the Red Cross needs to maintain a healthy Disaster Relief Fund.
This is why the Rockford Rampage has partnered with the Rock River Chapter and the Rockford Fire and Police departments to raise much-needed money for the Disaster Relief Fund. Firefighters and police officers will square off in a scrimmage soccer game prior to the Rampage vs. Monterrey game Jan. 30, 2010, at the MetroCentre, 300 Elm St., Rockford.
Scrimmage starts at 5 p.m., and the game starts at 7:05 p.m. Ticket prices start at $9, and $1 from every ticket benefits the Disaster Relief Fund. To order tickets, call (815) 968-5222 or visit www.rockfordrampage.com.
