MACHESNEY PARK, Ill.—Beauty and environmental responsibility are the hallmark of Granite Transformations’ newest glass mosaic tiles—Cosmic, White Shadow and Unity.
The recycled glass used in its manufacture produces a translucent luster that adds beauty and depth to kitchen backsplashes, fireplace surrounds, bathroom vanities or almost any place that needs a splash of color and style.
The new product is available at Granite Transformations in Machesney Park, Ill. Co-Owner Linda Young says the new glass mosaic tiles meet the area homeowners’ growing demand for green, sustainable products. “The beauty of glass tiles with the use of post-consumer glass is smart and beautiful,” she says.
Using everyday recycled bottles and glass containers, Granite Transformations produces 15 different colored mosaic tiles that make up the “Feel” collection. The new Cosmic, White Shadow and Unity mosaics combine warm shades of tan, brown and red glass in varying patterns.
Carl Griffenkranz, vice president of Marketing for Granite Transformations, says: “At Granite Transformations, we like to say that ‘green’ can be any color you want. By using recycled glass to make these mosaic tiles, we save energy and resources while producing beautiful mosaic tiles in a wide range of colors.”
Tiles are made using traditional 3/4-inch by 3/4-inch recycled glass mosaic pieces that are then formed into pre-grouted 4-foot by 10-foot sheets, eliminating the time-consuming and messy grouting process. Lasting beauty is ensured by the use of latex grout that will not crack and never needs sealing, virtually eliminating the problem of ugly, stained grout. Resistant to chemicals, stains, water absorption and frost, they can be used in either exterior or interior locations on both flat and round surfaces.
Granite Transformations is at 9934 N. Alpine Road, Machesney Park. Call (815) 633-6200 or visit www.granitetransformations.com/Rockford for more information.
