Severson Dells hosts ‘Tall Grass and Little Roads’ Feb. 2

Join Dan and Barbara Williams for the highlights of several “blue highways” tours of the tallgrass prairie region as they present “Tall Grass and Little Roads,” beginning at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 2, at the Severson Dells Nature Center, 8786 Montague Road, Rockford.
Travel the back roads from Minnesota, down through South Dakota, Nebraska and Kansas seeking out some of the gems of preserved prairies and watching for birds and other wildlife along the way.
Dan and Barbara have been birdwatchers and prairie enthusiasts for more than 20 years. They do some random photography and are easily distracted by every dung beetle, dragonfly and funny-looking plant along the way. So far, they have managed to avoid driving the car more than a few feet off the road while watching birds of prey overhead.
