Soil & Water Conservation District’s annual meeting Jan. 29

The Winnebago County Soil & Water Conservation District will holding its 69th annual meeting from 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m., Friday, Jan. 29, at Klehm Arboretum, 2715 S. Main St., Rockford.

The SWCD will recognize distinguished individuals and organizations within the community for their efforts in protecting and promoting the wise use of our natural resources. They will also feature their poster and photo contest winners; have a short business meeting with the election of three directors, and have a short program detailing district activities and accomplishments over the last year.

Guest speaker this year is Anita Zurbrugg, with American Farmland Trust. She will give a presentation on “Planning for Agriculture and the Land That Sustains Our Communities.”
