Eagle watches over the Rock River

View from Doug and Holli Connell's loft apartment in the Morrissey Office Building, 127 N. Wyman St., downtown Rockford, Feb. 1: "The photos were taken out of our living room window," said Holli. "The river is our back yard.' The eagle was trying to catch something in the river, and was unsuccessful, so while contemplating its next move, it landed in the tree across from us. He/she sat there for a while and reviewed the river. We were so excited to see it so close and have enjoyed sharing the photos with others." Feb. 2: Doug Connell also spotted a hawk resting in a tree on his journey down the Rock River. Photo by Holli Connell
