Rockford reaches out through music to help Haiti Feb. 21

Volunteers throughout the Rockford community are banding together to put on a benefit concert to raise funds in support of local organizations involved with the Haitian relief effort. The benefit will be from 1 to 9 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 21, at Giovanni’s, 610 N. Bell School Road. This concert will bring many of Rockford’s talented performers together to make miracles through music.
The day-long event will include entertainers in three rooms, two banquet halls as well as Big Al’s Bar, and provide a variety of local music talent as well as guest speakers. Food and drinks will be available for purchase.
The following bands are confirmed to play:
Big Al’s Bar—Harlan Jefferson, Christopher Sims, David Stocker and Jan Sebon, Cover Story, Jason Beatty, Taylor Bjerke and Matt Valenti, Opan Jii.
Main Ballroom—The Sensations, Aaron Fox and the Reliables, Dan Voll and ComboLoco!, Reflex-MJ Tribute, Silver, Epiphany.
West Ballroom—Fluid Minds, Matter Of Fact, HubbleQuest and DJ WeveOne, Judah, The Moment, 7th Street Allstars, Michael White and The Park Art Cinema Band.
Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the door and are available at Giovanni’s, the Rockford Area Arts Council, On the Waterfront, Inc., Guzzardo’s Performance Music and online at http://onthewaterfront.com/store [1]. All checks should be made payable to “Community Foundation.” Children age 10 and younger are free. All funds raised will be donated to Hope for Haitians, Kids Around the World, and Doctors Without Borders.
