County buys City Plaza building for $775,000

Winnebago County Board Chairman Scott Christiansen (R) announced Feb. 17 that federal bankruptcy Judge Manuel Barbosa approved a plan for Commercial Mortgage and Finance to sell the City Plaza building, 555 N. Court St., Rockford, to Winnebago County for $775,000. The county plans to move three Health Department facilities into the building.

It is hoped the sale will be finalized in the next few weeks.
