From press release
Join the Rock River Valley Chapter of Wild Ones: Native Plants, Natural Landscapes, as they host a presentation by Marcus de la fleur, registered landscape architect and owner of the Chicago design and consulting firmde la fleur LLC, www.delafleur.com.
He will speak on the topic “One Drop at a Time: Sustainable Stormwater Management for Homeowners” at 7 p.m., Thursday, March 18, at Klehm Arboretum & Botanic Garden Visitors’ Center, 2715 S. Main St., Rockford.
With its green roof, bioswale, rain gardens and other “green” applications, Marcus de la fleur’s residential pilot project in Elmhurst, Ill., brings to life the principles of responsible treatment of rainwater within a residential landscape. Marcus de la fleur will speak about the rationales of the applied sustainable practices, explain how to make a yard not only beautiful but useful and “green,” and describe and quantify the larger cumulative effect of taking these eminently doable “green” steps.
