One of my all-time favorite professional football players is returning to Rockford later this month. The legendary Hall of Famer Dan “DanimalHampton will be in town to help with a fund-raiser for MELD.

Hampton will be the keynote speaker at MELD’s Third Annual Sports Celebrity Evening at Giovanni’s Restaurant and Convention Center Thursday, March 18. The evening will include dinner, program and a great raffle (nine winners will be drawn for nine great prizes) and a silent and live auction of some great sports game tickets and packages.

Tickets to the dinner and program are $75. Limited VIP tickets are available. They include a pre-program reception with Hampton including a personally-autographed football. VIP Reception, Dinner and Program tickets are $100. Fans are encouraged to wear their favorite sports apparel.

This is MELD’s major fund-raiser of the year with all proceeds going to benefit MELD programs for young moms, dads and their families including their Homeless Shelter, Transitional Living Program and their Young Moms and Dads Parenting and Support groups.

The live auction includes the following:

A trip for six to San Miguel, Mexico, for one week; Cubs tickets; Bears tickets; four-course gourmet dinner for eight; and Cubs tickets with limo ride to Wrigleyville.

Great raffle with nine prizes for nine winners—$50 Mobil gift card every month for one year; spa package every month for a year; one-year family pass to Peak Sports Club; two nights at Chicago Marriott; wine, flowers and meat packages each month for a year; car wash every month for a year and carpet cleaning; and a customized bike.
