Reservations due March 15 for Girl Scouts’ ‘Evening of Sweet Deals’
From press release
Girl Scouts of Northern Illinois will celebrate the “girl” in Girl Scouting when they host the Third Annual “Evening of Sweet Deals” March 20 at Eagle Ridge Resort and Spa in Galena, Ill. The event will begin at 6 p.m. with hors d’oeuvres. A buffet dinner will be served at 7 p.m. Five rounds of live and silent auctions will also be hosted.
Highlights of the evening include a celebrity chef competition in which area chefs will create gourmet desserts using Girl Scout cookies. These edible art creations will be judged and auctioned off, along with other great items during the live auction. Items include golf outings, Chicago Cubs tickets, a vineyard tour, wine tasting, and other unique items of interest.
Emcee for the evening will be Nicole Kilmer, WTVO Weekday anchor. Celebrity judges this year include Galena Mayor Terry Renner, Steve Summers of Q98.5 and Sheri Goldammer of ABC Cookie Company. Judges will critique desserts in three categories: overall taste, ingredient creativity and visual appeal.
Tickets are $50 per person with reservations accepted until March 15. Reservations are available online at www.girlscoutsni.org or by calling the Freeport Service Center at (815) 235-8777.
