March 19 deadline for City of Rockford Human Services Scholarship Program

The City of Rockford Human Services Department is accepting applications for its 2010 Scholarship Program. Applicants must be income eligible, reside in Boone or Winnebago counties and plan on attending a post-secondary accredited school or training program located in the State of Illinois.

Scholarships are funded by the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity through the Community Service Block Grant.

Each year, the Department awards four to eight scholarships with the average award being $1,000. These community action scholarships assist citizens of Boone and Winnebago counties in improving their educational or training skills so that they can become self-sufficient. The deadline to apply is March 19, 2010
