‘Reach for the Stars’ concert at Coronado March 18

From press release

Giordano Jazz Dance Chicago will perform at 10:15 a.m., Thursday, March 18, at the Coronado Performing Arts Center. The annual “Reach for the Stars” event is made possible by the Friends of the Coronado Endowment for Children through the generosity of the Gordy & Mary Ann Smith Foundation and the Brubaker Charitable Trust. Ticket cost and transportation is provided by contributions from the two donors.

Fine Arts Coordinator Kathryn Engel-Terasaki said the generosity of the donors helps broaden the horizons of the fourth-graders every year. “Many of the children will be stepping into the Coronado Performing Arts Center for the first time in their lives and are mesmerized by the grandeur of the building and the beauty of the performance,” she said. “It is truly a thrilling experience for every child.”

Giordano Jazz Dance Chicago has captivated audiences worldwide with dynamic performances for more than 40 years. The troupe often travels to schools to educate their children about the importance of jazz dance as a true artistic expression of American life.
