Lundin Historic Preservation Fund grants by the Community Foundation of Northern Illinois; and the presentation of the Heart of Rockford Awards by RDA.
This event is a great opportunity to learn about what’s been happening downtown, get to know River District, and become a part of the movement to make downtown a better place for the whole community.
Tickets are $60 and include entertainment, dinner, tax, gratuity and program. Cash bar. (Tickets are $50 each for RDA members and $400 for a table of eight.) Reservation deadline is Friday, March 19.
The Heart of Rockford Awards program recognizes personal and financial investment in the heart of the City of Rockford. Since 1987, 198 awards have been given out. Many more people and projects were nominated, which represents millions of dollars of investment in downtown Rockford over the past 24 years.
“The awards program is an inspiring event that shines the light on investment in Rockford’s downtown River District neighborhood,” said Kim Wheeler Johnsen, executive director of River District Association, the organization that promotes and advocates for downtown, as well as serving as a liaison for development. “There are two themes in the nominations submitted this year—creative innovation and collaboration. It’s very exciting to see such imaginative work and passion among the nominations.”
